More Alice + Olivia.by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 30th, 2009
Okay when I said I had fallen in love with Alice + Olivia in my last post, I was not kidding. Something about their french inspired installations captured my heart. Not to mention that I also love the collection. Especially that light sequin drape dress. Here is the most amazing part. ALL the shoes in the collection are part of the Alice + Olivia 2010 Payless collection. Which means yes, they will all be under $50 and yes, they will be available at Payless come February 2010. I plan to be first in line to purchase these babies which are ironically named “Eric.” Ha!
I've never been a huge ALICE + OLIVIA fan but…by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 30th, 2009

Where in the world is Mollie Maguire?by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 29th, 2009
Obviously Mollie hasn’t posted anything in a few weeks now but there is a reason and a pretty good one too! She’s asked me to come on here and let you all know that she has been really busy working. Recently she’s been working with Avena Gallagher and even assisted stylist Nicola Formichetti (the stylist responsible for Lady Gaga’s VMA outfits) at a Lady Gaga shoot! Today she also had the opportunity to style a shoot for Atlantic City Magazine! Anyway, she promises to write soon about all this stuff thats been happening lately and will post up some pictures of the shoot soon. In the mean time, I’m here to entertain you guys!

bonne annéeby Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 27th, 2009
With only three months left in 2009, I’m already starting to brew up new years plans. I’m really wanting to go to Paris this year for new years and it just so happens that STA is offering $498 round trip tickets! I’m pretty sure this is a sign to book that ticket and go! I want to roam the streets of Paris in some YSL heels and eat lots of delicious cupcakes. I want to drink coffee in some side street cafe. I want to play in the original Chanel store. I want to lie in the Luxembourg gardens! I want to go kiss Oscar Wilde’s gravestone at the Père Lachaise Cemetery just like they do in Paris Je t’aime. And then I want to watch fireworks cascade out of the Eiffel Tower. So cliche but so lovely. Only one problem…who to go with? I do love being by myself but lets get real, it’s the city of love! Ah, let me get thinking…
My current obsession…by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 27th, 2009
I’m kind of in love with these 5preview shirts that have become so popular. Story is, the designer started out with the CAVOUR shirt but had to stop its production due to copyright laws over at Chanel. I still want one and will find one. They have dozens of other designs which are almost all somewhat of a tribute to labels/designers. Visit their website to see the rest!

My fall jacket…by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 23rd, 2009
Happy Fall!by Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 23rd, 2009
Today is officially the first day of fall! In a perfect world where I didn’t still live in this tropical city, I would be off to buy some boots, light coats, and amazing tights/stockings/hosiery. However, I will take advantage of my last fall in Miami and wear a bathing suite out tomorrow (not really). Enjoy!
Nylon, beet salad, and Led Zeppelin: FARAN KRENTCILby Elizabeth Jaime posted at September 21st, 2009
So recently I had this great idea where I start bringing you guys some actual interviews with prominent people in the fashion world. When trying to think of who to feature first, I automatically thought of Faran Krentcil. Now, if you don’t read your daily Fashionista and aren’t on top of your game, she’s the founder of Fashionista as well as the digital director of Nylon. Somewhere in between her love for beet salads, and her obsession with the Damien Rice cover of Creep, I fell in love. I wanted to give you guys a more inside look at her life rather than some boring work-related questions. So here it is!
EJ :If we were to go back in time to one of your high school
days, what would you most likely be wearing?
FK: A black mini-dress, red Vans sneakers, a red hoodie or oversized cardigan,
wool tights, and a messenger bag from the Army Navy store. There would
also be Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey and dark purple nail polish
from Wet ‘n Wild involved. This was the late ’90s, after all…
EJ:. I read that you graduated from Duke as an Art Major – is
there any piece of artwork that you absolutely love?
FK: There’s a piece called Concordia by Graham Nixon that was painted in the
’70s. It’s of a girl sitting on a railing looking out on a beautiful
beach, but her expression is just totally bored. I wrote a play based on
that painting (I was a theater major too!)
EJ: I know that being the digital director at Nylon requires
you to have an eye for spotting out different trends and being able to
showcase it to your readers/viewers. What do YOU think is the next big trend?
FK: I’m calling it “Punk Cherokee” – it’s some traditional Southwestern
elements like feathers, leather, and seed beads, but reworked into a much
more aggressive silhouette. Should be fun.
EJ: It’s obvious you ladies over at Nylon are OBSESSED with
yellow nail polish. Is there any other color you’d love to see people start
FK: We’ll see if the pastel blue nail comes back into style when Hard Candy
relaunches in Walmart this Spring.
EJ: What’s one book that you really love?
FK: “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro. It’s the scariest and most brilliant
thing I’ve ever read.
EJ: What band/artist/song are you currently obsessed with?
FK: I can’t stop playing this cover of Creep by Radiohead that Damien Rice did.
But my all-time band crush is Led Zeppelin.
EJ: What’s one food spot in the city that you just never get tired of?
FK: Veselka! The Russian diner on 9th Street! OMG how can you live without a
bowl of organic beet salad?! (I’m Russian, which probably helps…)
EJ: If you weren’t living in New York where would you be living?
FK: London, definitely. But I’m also excited to move back to North Carolina
eventually, just for a year. I want to write a book there.
EJ: Red or hot pink lipstick?
FK: Today? Hot pink. But I love both.
EJ: And the big question – Chuck or Nate?
FK: Ew! No! Vampire Eric!
Hope you guys enjoyed! Wonder who will be next feature…stay tuned!
