I’m good, I’m gone!

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 29th, 2010

Well –I’m off! Out like a trout. Gone like Donky Kong. Sayonara, see you later alligator. The time has arrived. In about three hours I’ll be boarding my very, very long flight on Lufthansa to Munich where I will be catching my connecting flight to Ancona, Italy where Nicholas family lives. What’s on my mind right now? How do I get upgraded to first class (for free!) Any tips? Regardless of my quest for first class, I know my trip will be amazing. I return in three weeks and cannot wait to share pictures, stories, and adventures with you. I have been convinced to not bring my trusty Macbook with me so I cannot guarantee many posts. However, as you see below –I have left Alessandro to hold down the fort. I hope that you’re all here when I return. Ciao! Arrivederci!

Love,

EJ

The perfect red lip.

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 28th, 2010

I found the perfect red lipstick. Not only is the color beautiful, it’s a matte lipstick! It’s Mac’s “Ruby Woo.” Since it is matte, it makes it a little harder to put on but eventually lasts longer than other lipsticks. I’m in love and want to where it 24/7.

Happy 1st Birthday to In Between Seams.

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 25th, 2010

Well, June marks 12 months of In Between Seams. I never really thought I had the patience or will to write in a blog for so long, and so often. I’d like to thank my…..just kidding. In all seriousness though, I love sharing my art, thoughts, and love for the world with all of you. To those of you who check back often –thank you. For those of you who don’t –it’s okay but you know you want to add me to your bookmarks! I’ve seen ups and downs in my ratings but know I’ll always be here. Here’s to another year!

Up for Grabs: If You Have to Cry Go Outside…give away!

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 22nd, 2010

Hi everyone! Well, here it is –In Between Seams first give away! Recently I read Kelly Cutrones’ If You Have To Cry, Go Outside and absolutely loved it. Kelly gives the reader a no BS approach to being successful not just in the fashion industry –but also in life. I absolutely loved it and read the whole thing in a flight from Miami to New York. I highly suggest it and that is why I’m letting one of you win my copy! I’ve already read it and no one else at Ludlow wants to read it so –why not!? If you’d like to win the book, comment on this post telling me a good book you recently read. The contest will stay open until Friday night and a winner will be selected at random. Good luck!
[EDIT: Alessandro won! Thanks for playing you guys. For those of you wondering how I did it since Alessandro commented four times --I just counted him as number 3 since he was the third person to comment and then just continued with Kimberly as four. Thanks!]

Happy Summer!

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 21st, 2010

Just incase you didn’t already know, today is the first day of summer! How have you been spending this extra long day? I just got back to New York and am already ready to leave to Italy. The Bahamas was very relaxing and sunny. I’ll be posting pictures later tonight. As for now, I’m going to take a nap (I woke up pretty early.) As for you, go out and do something ‘summery.’

Italy on my mind.

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 19th, 2010

Bongiorno my friends. I leave the Bahamas tomorrow which is sad but I am excited because I am leaving to Italy next week! So, as I have my trip to Italy on my mind, I wonder – what should I pack? I’ve already looked over The Sartorialist many times to educate myself on Italian style but is there something I should know? What are some essential things I should take? Your input would be appreciated! xx E

Summer all year long

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 17th, 2010

Well, I didn’t really mention on here that I would be in the Bahamas this week but here I am! Yesterday, we boarded a tiny 6 passenger plane and made our hour long journey to Great Harbor Cay, Bahamas. The flight was smooth (unlike most commercial flights) and we’ve really been enjoying our time here. Nicholas and I are here with my grandma and grandpa who own this lovely house here. Today we are expecting more family. They were suppose to be here already but a pesky thunderstorm has them waiting at the airport in Miami. Expect pictures soon! The one I posted above is from the last time I was here!

Button + Boo part two!

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 15th, 2010

So remember how I said I modeled some clothes for Etsy shop Button + Boo? Well, the site is up and I’d also like to share some of the other pictures from the shoot. I’ll say sorry in advance for the excessive amount of Eli pictures.

I have to say — my Stellas were VERY hard to bike and walk in. The cobble stones of Bond St. made it even harder to walk!

In this picture I was attempting to do that famous model jump pose. It obviously didn’t work out too well.

This is the other model, Doris, and I

That’s all! Eric from Cire Studios did a great job. Also, I suggest you visit the Etsy shop Button + Boo if you like what you see. All the pieces are hand made by the designer Christina DeSmet who is so sweet!

French Find

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 15th, 2010

Nicholas and I have been looking for a new couch for Ludlow. We recently purchased some antique pieces, including a coffee table and a screenthing(?) but there was no luck when looking for a couch. While looking through some inspirational decor magazines, I can’t help but fall in love with the French Provincial style furniture. With its intricate details and beautiful upholstery, I feel like Marie Antoinette myself — all I need are the cupcakes and the pug. We almost got lucky when we placed a bid on a beautiful french style chair through Housing Works however, our hope came crashing down when someone outbid us! So for now — the search continues!

Mulberry for Target: I rejoice.

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 14th, 2010

I love when Target collaborates with designers (who doesn’t?) I’m especially happy to hear that Mulberry will be partnering with Target to make an 8 piece collection. I’m assuming they won’t be exact copies of their most popular bags (like the Alexa pictured above) but I’m excited to see what they come up with. You can expect the collection to hit stores in October — until then, I’m going to dream about those Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges I never got in my hands. Sigh.

Sea of Who????

by Elizabeth Jaime posted at June 9th, 2010

Has anyone been as unimpressed with Sea of Shoes as I have been lately? Ask me a year ago what I thought of the shoe paradisiacal blog and I would have told you it was the best thing that happened to the fashion world since the invention of the internet, but lately, I can’t help but yaaaawn! Remember the days when SOS was updated at least twice a week? Now we’re lucky to get a few random pictures out of Jane once a week. What could have gone wrong? Did all the fame get to her head? Possibly. After reading her tweet about not wanting to attend allllll those shows she was invited to for New York Fashion Week I couldn’t help but think – “what the hell?” Shortly after, we saw her comment section disappear from her website which was another “what the hell?” for me. Doesn’t she care what her fans have to say about her? Apparently not – she couldn’t take the heat from the people who didn’t absolutely obsess over her.

You may ask – why are you ranting, Eli? Well the truth is – I miss the old Sea of Shoes. You know – when she wasn’t so into herself. So I ask… are you still out there, Jane? For now, I’ll just stick to Atlantis Home because it still provides us with a little bit of Jane without all the fame.
