Italy.

I’ve been back in New York for about three days now and I really did need a vacation from the vacation. Italy was amazing. Never have I eaten so much in one place. I mean, 3 course meals two times a day. Really, Italy? REALLY!? It was great though. The food was amazing and so were the people and places. My favorite city was definitely Venice. How unique can a city get? I now want to share pictures and stories with you all!

We arrived in Acona, Italy which is cute little port city where Nicholas’ mom grew up. They have a charming little house where we spent most of our days in the pool eating lots of tomato mozzarella at this table.

Nicholas’s mom has a beautiful garden with lots of lavender. At this point, the lavender was a little bit dried up but still beautiful.

Our first week in Ancona consisted of a lot of laziness and jet lag.

After a week in Ancona we then drove to Florence, Nice (France), and around. At that point of the trip I had no camera charger so I took all these pictures on a disposable which is soon to be developed so you’ll have to wait for those!

Then it was off to Venice where it was the weekend of the Redentore festival which commemorates the end of the plague in Europe.

We were lucky enough to meet up with Nicholas friends, Amber and Leo. Leo grew up in Venice and we had the chance to stay in his AMAZING palazzetto on the Grand Canal. His grandmother, The Countess, still lives in the palazzetto but only in a small part of it. We got to play and hang out in this historic house – it was amazing!

We watched the Redentore fireworks from the balcony. I think it was one of the best fireworks shows I’ve seen. Europeans may not be good at having air conditioning or accurate signs but they sure are good at firework shows.
