On Friday, I turned the ripe age of twenty-one. Our night started out with dinner at Barmarche and then we fled to The Back Room, a speakeasy bar located in the Lower East Side. I had heard pretty cool things about this place which is actually hidden down an alley and whose sign actually reads “The LES Toy Company” to “elude the cops.” To go along with the whole theme, drinks are served in tea cups and beers in paper brown bags. The only thing that brought me back to 2011 was a mix of The Strokes’ new song, which of course, I enjoyed (note: I love The Strokes!) All in all, it was a pretty cool place and if you’re ever in the area, go ahead and check it out. You’ll feel like your living in the prohibition era and that you’ll have to ride your buggie back to your home.

Note: Nicholas, I know you’re sad you’re not in any of the pictures. It’s because you’re always taking them. Love ya and thanks for making my birthday happen!
