As I mentioned in an earlier post, Nicholas and I decided we really wanted a space where we could eat dinner with other people, or even just ourselves. And so, after stumbling upon this DIY project, we decided to give it a go.
Our end result? A beautiful big table that cost us only about $90. I think that if we purchased a similar table from somewhere else, it would of cost us $200 and upwards.

Thankfully, I had Nicholas to help put it together, however, don’t be afraid to go at it yourself! The process was super simple.
Our first step was purchasing all our materials:
-Five planks of wood (we chose a plank that was 6′ wide x 5” long, yielding a five-foot long table by roughly 30 inches long. Of course, you can choose whatever size you’d like)
-Our legs/support (we used Ikea’s Lerberg Trestle),
-And our Stain (we used Miniwax Beachwood Stain which worked fine, however, I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a really beach-stained look. It’s a little dark and not grey enough in my opinion)
After having all our materials, we first stained both sides of the wood and let it dry over night. We repeated this step just because we thought one more coat might be nice.
After letting that dry, we decided which sides of the wood we wanted to be the top and arranged how we wanted the table to look.
We then used a piece of wood to hold the five planks together. We screwed a few screws from the bottom up so that they weren’t visible.
After our table top was assembled, we put our feet together. Obviously, this took a few minutes (thank you, Ikea for your sometimes amazing, sometimes not instructions!)
Once our feet were assembled, we simply put our table top on top of the feet, and BAM(!), we had ourselves a table!
