Ofagna’s Medieval Festival

Every year, Ofagna–a medieval hill-top town located close to Ancona–hosts a medieval festival. This year, Nicholas and I were around for the festival so decided to take part in the festivities while visiting one of Nicholas’ friend who lives in the town of Ofagna.

Everywhere you turned, there was someone dressed in a mask trying to scare you and little relics which paid tribute to the medieval times. Being at the festival truly made me feel like I was part of the olden days sans the medieval-wear. Even the lights that lit up the town where of fire and not light bulbs.

Along with the atmosphere, there are super fun games to partake in like Javelin throwing and shooting a target with a bow and arrow. Nicholas’ nephews, Jack and Rex, were beyond excited to give the archery stand a try. Apparently Jack is reading a book that takes place in the Medieval times so he was thrilled to feel as if he was a part of the time that his book takes place in.
